Summary
You will gain the knowledge and skills needed to work under supervision whilst shearing and crutching in a woolshed.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion, learners will be able to:
- select and assemble gear and identify and rectify faults in combs
- set up and maintain a machine shearing handpiece
- identify, adjust and lubricate essential components of a down-tube to maintain operational performance
- catch and present sheep for shearing
- crutch sheep under supervision
- apply sequence and pattern to shear sheep under supervision
- identify wool faults, contaminants, damaged sheep and injuries to sheep.
