Summary

In the landscaping apprenticeship, learners gain the skills to set out a landscaping site from drawings, lay a range of hard surfaces in landscape work, and construct timber and concrete features, starting with the fundamentals. learners will be able to supervise junior staff and lead a team to construct a landscape project.

At the end of the apprenticeship, learners will have earned both New Zealand Certificate level 3 and level 4.

The apprenticeship takes 28 months and learners can start anytime. 

Learning outcomes

Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

  • apply knowledge of supervision and provide instruction to engage with team members using a range of effective communication and interpersonal skills relevant to a horticulture sector.
  • apply knowledge of hard and soft landscaping and site-specific requirements to schedule site activities and construct a landscape design from plans.
