Prerequisites
Learners must be employed in the sector. It is recommended that the New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture (Level 3) Sports Turf is completed or demonstrated skills and experience prior to entry to this programme.

Summary
Learn to implement a sports turf management programme.
Intended for people who are experienced workers in the industry who want to develop their skills and knowledge to supervise day to day operations in sports turf.
Graduates will be able to work independently and may have some responsibility for the performance of others.
This programmes takes 29 months to complete and starts in summer.
Learners will be able to:
- apply knowledge of supervision and providing instruction to engage with team members using a range of effective communication and interpersonal skills relevant to a horticulture sector
- develop and implement annual sports turf management plans consistent with enterprise and sports turf specifications
- produce financial costings for a sports turf annual budget
- implement sports turf workplace health and safety, and risk management plans.
